How do I revive myself spiritually?
It can be difficult to maintain a spiritual connection, especially when life throws us unexpected curveballs. Whatever season of life you are in, it’s important to stay connected with your spiritual side and to make time for self-care. Below are a few suggestions on how you can revive yourself spiritually.
Take a New Class
A great way to refresh your spirit is to take a class that will move your body and stir your heart. Yoga classes are a popular option for self-care, as are meditation classes and courses. Surround yourself with like-minded individuals and take in the wisdom of a teacher for one hour at a time.
Allow Yourself to be Stirred Up by God's Holy Spirit
God could preach the Gospel directly from heaven, but instead He has chosen to use us, His followers on earth. Allow yourself to be stirred up and given a heavenly dose of spiritual excitement, so you can move forward with a greater devotion to Him and be motivated to minister in His name to a lost world.
Reevaluate Your Schedule
If you’re struggling to find time to spend in God’s Word, take a moment to assess your schedule and ask yourself if it is providing you with the best use of your time. Remember that God will hold us accountable for how we use the time He has given us.
Give Yourself Grace
It’s important to surround yourself with grace and love and not to be too hard on yourself for any setbacks that may arise throughout the process. We have to fight our sinful nature every day and it’s not always going to be a smooth journey. Take some moments to forgive yourself and pick up wherever you left off.
Connect with Your Spirituality
When you’re feeling depleted, connecting with your spirituality is a great way to quickly access a strong, internal power source, so that you can refocus on what is most important for you. You can achieve this connection through a variety of activities such as writing in a journal, praying, and meditating.
Strengthen Your Core
Strengthening your spiritual core is essential in helping you perform better emotionally, mentally, and physically. Some lifestyle changes you can make to achieve this are setting positive affirmations, taking a break from technology, and/or focusing on developing healthier relationships.
Forge True Authenticity
Forging true authenticity will help you open your spirit to infinite possibilities. Step out of your comfort zone and make the conscious decision to differentiate between the False Self, which you share with the world to please others, and to be open to the possibilities that come from operating out of your True Self.
Worship
Worship is an incredibly powerful way to reconnect with your spiritual side and receive spiritual renewal. It impacts all aspects of your being and can help you invigorate and inspire yourself in times of need. Engaging in worship both in a group setting and individually can help you find solace and strength in whatever season of life you may find yourself.
Remember and Repeat
Take time to remember who you are and the things that God has done in your life. Renew your mind with His promises and never forget how He holds you in the palm of His hand. It’s also important to remember to repeat the things that God has done in your life throughout your journey. As Jesus said in Revelation 2:1-5, remember from where you have fallen.
No matter where you are on your spiritual journey, never give up. You are capable of living a life full of hope and joy and all it takes is determination, patience and a little inspiration. Remember always to stay connected with yourself and with God. He loves you, now and always.
